Welcome to

Dense GAS in Nearby Galaxies – ALMA Workshop

March 4, 5, 6, 2024 Public Workshop (Venue: Osaka University Nakanoshima Center)
March 7, 8, 2024  Internal Collaboration Meeting  for ALMA Large Project: DenseGAS (Venue: TBD)

Registration Deadline : February 9th, 2024 (Friday)

The proposed Dense Gas with ALMA Survey (DenseGAS) for the upcoming ALMA Cycle-11 call focuses on conducting a comprehensive survey of dense molecular gas in galaxies, a key aspect not yet thoroughly explored in existing large statistical surveys like xGASS and xCOLDGASS. To broaden engagement with the Japanese community on this topic, a workshop is planned for March 4-6, 2024. This workshop is open to all interested parties and aims to foster collaborative discussions and knowledge sharing among researchers from diverse backgrounds, all united by their interest in galaxy evolution. The event will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas, methods, and findings related to galaxy evolution, molecular gas, and star formation. Furthermore, it will offer a nurturing environment for young researchers to engage with established experts, potentially leading to future collaborations and advancements in the field.
